Chowan Metal Recycling isn’t your average metal scrap yard. I’m Rachel Johnson—owner, operator, and the face you’ll see out in the yard. I started this business back in 2012 to give people in Edenton a better place to bring their metal. From old siding to junk cars, we’ve helped hundreds in Hertford, Elizabeth City, Columbia, Plymouth, Windsor, and Creswell turn trash into treasure.

As a former transcriptionist and full-time mom, I had no experience in scrap—just a solid work ethic and the guts to build something real. Over a decade later, I’m still right there in the yard, making sure folks get treated right. We’re not a faceless scrap yard. We’re your neighbors and we’re here to make a difference.
